In early April, a bush warbler (uguisu) visits my house every morning. They are a little rare now in Miyako, so it is lovely that he's decided that he likes my garden. (Only the males sing, so I know it is a 'he'.)
But if you live in another part of Japan, you might notice that his song is a little strange. Bush warblers in Okinawa are famous for not singing a full song like their cousins all over Japan. The song is short, and is often more like talking than singing. This video was taken a few days ago when he sang the most that I've ever heard. Usually he just talks to himself, rather than sing.
